Inspired by Dance from various cultural groups, Zaina Zahra developed Global Dance Goddess as a way of expressing her inner desire to change the world through the unity inspired by dancing. Her cultural dance journey began in 2006 when first studying Bellydancing in Atlanta, Georgia USA.
She expanded her dance skills by studying the Classical Indian Dance, Kathak, under guru Divya Srivastava, in 2007. In the same year, Zaina delivered her first performance at The Imperial Fez Moroccan Restaurant, Buckhead Community, Atlanta Georgia, and first began performing professionally at various local restaurant venues (Cafe Istanbul, Byblos Lebanese Restaurant, Darvish Persian Tea House, Mykonos, Fanoos, Cafe Bombay, Cafe Efendi, etc.) throughout the Metro Atlanta area. Additionally, 2007 marked the beginning of Zaina teaching beginner Bellydancing classes, and executing her first self taught fire performances.
Over the years Zaina began to study other styles of cultural dance, including Brasilian Samba (2009), Egyptian folkloric Saidy, Balady, and Classical Raqs Sharqi under the tutelage of Master Tito Seif of Egypt (2010), and Polynesian Hula Dance (2011). Zaina began performing in music videos with fire props (2014), and traveling to Egypt to study intensive courses and perform with live orchestras (2015). She has since performed at countless weddings, collegiate festivals, cultural events nationwide, and has been featured on television (Bravo, BET, MTV, VH1, The Food Network, and OWN) via popular reality television programs.
Today Zaina Zahra is Atlanta's Best and most popular Bellydancer & Bollywood Artist, a Phenomenal Passista and very Passionate Hula Dancer. Her Fire Performances are multi-faceted and suitable for various styles of music and cultural expression. Zaina's innovative abilities allow her to quickly adapt to and work with various Artists by exercising her unique abilities in improvising and instantaneously choreographing technique. Her never-ending journey continues in exploring and projecting the divine arts of world culture through music and dance.
"May we all gather in a circle and dance together: shedding our ill-perceived societal divisions of race, gender, religious belief, economic privilege and social caste...may we all be humans and dance together, and love one another."
